My Prayer For Years

1 Kings chapter 3 captures a conversation between God and Solomon ...

That night, there in Gibeon, God appeared to Solomon in a dream: God said, “What can I give you? Ask.” ... Here I am, set down in the middle of the people you’ve chosen, a great people—far too many to ever count. “Here’s what I want: Give me a God-listening heart so I can lead your people well, discerning the difference between good and evil. For who on their own is capable of leading your glorious people?” God, the Master, was delighted with Solomon’s response. And God said to him, “Because you have asked for this and haven’t grasped after a long life, or riches, or the doom of your enemies, but you have asked for the ability to lead and govern well, I’ll give you what you’ve asked for—I’m giving you a wise and mature heart. (MSG)

This has been my prayer for years in anticipation, expectation, and preparation for where God is taking me.

I encourage you to pray for wisdom because with that you can handle all the areas of your life.  Ask and He will give is what the Bible says.

Twas the Night Before the Super Bowl

Twas the night before the Super Bowl ... 5 years ago today, God, the quarterback, decided to throw a beautiful touchdown pass in the clutch to the receivers, us, and we didn't get a Vince Lombardi trophy but a beautiful baby girl, and we got to name her Abigail and kiss her from then til now.

We celebrate her life with a heart of thankfulness to God, family, friends, and the church. There have been the challenges, scares, tears, laughs, parties, doctor visits, school trips, family days, and more to come.

It was just yesterday we were changing diapers and now we are filling out paperwork for her to start Kindergarten.  Time does fly. She's a big sister now and a very good, protective one at that.  She's smart, diplomatic, and funny! Please continue to keep her in your prayers.

Our prayer is that her heart, mind, and life is set apart for God and His call.  Our prayer is that she is blessing to her family, friends, church, and community all for His glory!

Psalms 103:17But the love of the Lord remains forever with those who fear him. His salvation extends to the children’s children 18 of those who are faithful to his covenant,of those who obey his commandments! 19 The Lord has made the heavens his throne; from there he rules over everything. 20 Praise the Lord, you angels, you mighty ones who carry out his plans, listening for each of his commands. 21 Yes, praise the Lord, you armies of angels who serve him and do his will! 22 Praise the Lord, everything he has created, everything in all his kingdom.

Sitting in Drafts

Found this in my drafts folder ... this was written in relation to our annual Back 2 School Giveaway Bash:
Simply amazed at God's direction, presence, and help in all things related to this move of generosity.  We heard and saw a few testimonies but there are many we might not ever hear or we will witness in the near future.  CWS is going after 34000 by loving them.  To borrow something I overheard a children's ministry teacher tell her class on Sunday morning: the church was being the church by sharing & caring.  We are cultivating a culture of generosity!

Snippet 1: I can confidently say the entire church family served in some capacity.  It's amazing how people were ready to do anything to get ready for this experience.  Wednesday a team of people did work in preparation for the weekend.  Friday night's involvement and turnout of volunteers were unprecedented.  To see the teamwork, diversity, dedication, and simple joy of working together was mind-blowing.

We are called to serve.  We are called to love.  We are called to share.  We are called to care.
We, as a CWS family thrive to be generous as individuals, families, and as a church family.  Loving this community until 34000 experience the love of Jesus Christ.  Get in on what God is doing.

How many letters, dreams, and hopes are still sitting in our drafts folder?  Give it over to God and see how amazing He is in turning your draft into final copy.

Enjoy The Ride,

Pastor Cee

The Plan? There Is No Plan

Those were the words I had shared with our team of leaders in regards to the 24 Hour Lock In Prayer this past weekend.  I've never experienced anything like that before in my life and I'm not sure if I will again!

If you know me, you know I like to be organized, structured, prepared as much as possible.  Don't get me wrong we did prepare and do our part in providing the opportunity, environment, and tools necessary for God to do His part.  From 8 pm on Friday thru 8 pm on Saturday, the Holy Spirit was in total control.  We just went along for the ride and yup, we enjoyed it!

In each block, every 3 hours, God sent a Word thru a worship leader or a speaker.  The atmosphere was saturated with His love, presence, and glory!  God orchestrated every person and message and it was like He was sewing a quilt together.  As each section or piece of the quilt was being sewn together it just kept making more sense and looking more beautiful and complete.  And when its all over, what a beautiful sight to see.

There was time for prayer for marriages, children, healing, overcoming fears, and so much more.  We finished strong and with Holy Commuion (not part of plan) but then realized it was His plan.  The challenge to the people was not just to finish strong 24 hours of prayer but LIVE STRONGER through Jesus Christ everyday of our lives outside of the church building.  Be the church in our world.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of the Heavenly Father, and communion of the Holy Spirit was there and is upon every life in this moment.
