Sitting in Drafts

Found this in my drafts folder ... this was written in relation to our annual Back 2 School Giveaway Bash:
Simply amazed at God's direction, presence, and help in all things related to this move of generosity.  We heard and saw a few testimonies but there are many we might not ever hear or we will witness in the near future.  CWS is going after 34000 by loving them.  To borrow something I overheard a children's ministry teacher tell her class on Sunday morning: the church was being the church by sharing & caring.  We are cultivating a culture of generosity!

Snippet 1: I can confidently say the entire church family served in some capacity.  It's amazing how people were ready to do anything to get ready for this experience.  Wednesday a team of people did work in preparation for the weekend.  Friday night's involvement and turnout of volunteers were unprecedented.  To see the teamwork, diversity, dedication, and simple joy of working together was mind-blowing.

We are called to serve.  We are called to love.  We are called to share.  We are called to care.
We, as a CWS family thrive to be generous as individuals, families, and as a church family.  Loving this community until 34000 experience the love of Jesus Christ.  Get in on what God is doing.

How many letters, dreams, and hopes are still sitting in our drafts folder?  Give it over to God and see how amazing He is in turning your draft into final copy.

The Plan? There Is No Plan

Those were the words I had shared with our team of leaders in regards to the 24 Hour Lock In Prayer this past weekend.  I've never experienced anything like that before in my life and I'm not sure if I will again!

If you know me, you know I like to be organized, structured, prepared as much as possible.  Don't get me wrong we did prepare and do our part in providing the opportunity, environment, and tools necessary for God to do His part.  From 8 pm on Friday thru 8 pm on Saturday, the Holy Spirit was in total control.  We just went along for the ride and yup, we enjoyed it!

In each block, every 3 hours, God sent a Word thru a worship leader or a speaker.  The atmosphere was saturated with His love, presence, and glory!  God orchestrated every person and message and it was like He was sewing a quilt together.  As each section or piece of the quilt was being sewn together it just kept making more sense and looking more beautiful and complete.  And when its all over, what a beautiful sight to see.

There was time for prayer for marriages, children, healing, overcoming fears, and so much more.  We finished strong and with Holy Commuion (not part of plan) but then realized it was His plan.  The challenge to the people was not just to finish strong 24 hours of prayer but LIVE STRONGER through Jesus Christ everyday of our lives outside of the church building.  Be the church in our world.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of the Heavenly Father, and communion of the Holy Spirit was there and is upon every life in this moment.

WE ARE GOING TO LOL!

This year is going to be a special year in the history of CWS.  We are expecting God to 'cement' the foundation of this movement in the coming months of 2013.  The 'cement' will be LOVE.  God has given us a rhema word to pray, focus, and be open to love Him and people and build strong relationships with Him and people.  He spoke to me through Acts 2 at the close of 2012 in reference to the vision for CWS in 2013.

We have started year 3 of this journey called CWS (for now).  Year 1 everything was new and different and it was a FRESH START for individuals, families, and the ministry of CWS.  Year 2 God enabled us to focus on spiritual disciplines for the individual and ensuring we grow to be SOLID ROCK DISCIPLES OF CHRIST.  Year 3 is the year He expects us to LOL!  Yup, you read that right!  We are going to LOL this year at CWS.  We are going to:

And going back to Acts 2 the closing parts, we are reminded how the community of believers was fortified and developed.  Through that the last words in that chapter says, the Lord added to them daily.  We are not abandoning evangelism and outreach, but we are strengthening the reality of community within the folks of the church.  All that has to originate, flow, live out, and be fruitful through love.  When we accept the love of Christ, we have to live out the love of Christ in all circles of our life.

The vehicle through which CWS will prepare an environment will be similar to what we see in Acts 2: SMALL GROUPS.  We are launching small groups in February with sign ups to start this Sunday.  I'm not going to give away too many details today, but feel free to come check out a service Sundays at 930 am or follow us online via Facebook / Twitter / YouTube.  We believe that we will grow through small groups in all facets of life.  And that LOVE will flow out through lives, families, groups, church into our communities which will draw the people away from Christ towards Him.

If you are not plugged into a church that is Bible-based, Christ-centered, Spirit-filled, and multi-ethnic living out the Great Commission & Great Commandment, come check it out.  Our mission is to be a catalyst in restoring lives for a Christ-centered purpose, empowering minds with knowledge of God, aligning and developing leaders for service, and proclaiming Jesus Christ in Biblical worship & lifestyle.

Let's take this journey together because greater things are yet to come!

Enjoy The Ride,

Throwdown to Surrender

1 King 18:42 So Ahab went off to eat and drink, but Elijah climbed to the top of Carmel, bent down to the ground and put his face between his knees.43 "Go and look toward the sea," he told his servant. And he went up and looked. "There is nothing there," he said. Seven times Elijah said, "Go back." 44 The seventh time the servant reported, "A cloud as small as a man's hand is rising from the sea."
The servants of God must head up to the top of the mountain fall on their face and talk to and hear from God. Then lead their team to run and look if the clouds/rains are coming. Let the people in the church stay at the base of the mountain while you go up to receive from the Lord. They will wait to hear what God has told the servant of God to share with them. Dont burn yourself out trying to appease everyone and run to every beckon call. Wait in the presence of God and release ministers to run for you.

The rain started as a cloud the size of a small fist. The church is the small fist - bound tight and close together - not like an open hand with five fingers exposed pointing in all directions. Stand together and come together and be strong as the small fist for one vision and purpose. God will turn the small fist into a great movement and covering of the rain clouds that will lead to the sound of abundance of rain. The famine is over and the rain is coming. Get ready for the downpour of blessings into the church and your life.

Enjoy The Ride,
