Last weekend was relaxing and hopefully productive! Started a new series on "Broken Chains".
Part 1 covered 3 characteristics that we hold onto or take onto our lives - even as Christ-followers.
1. Greed - success is not based on what you have compared to those around you
2. Laziness - we need to be productive, fruitful, and multiply in physical and spiritual areas
3. Pride - dont cross the line from confidence to pride and dont walk around feeling worthless either
These are 3 "chains" that starts with one link but with each instance we exercise those traits, we add another link to the chain and make it stronger and tighter around us. If we recognize and make a decision to break free, God will give us His power and His grace to break those "chains" from our lives and move forward in freedom.
It's funny how God speaks ... as the illustration got to the part of cutting the PRIDE "chain", it was not as easy as the other two "chains". Pride is always hard to cut out and keep in check. Be confident but not proud. Boast in the Lord if anything!
